For more than a decade, Chegg has supported students from higher education institutions to help them succeed in school and achieve their dreams. The traditional academic path, however, often fails to meet all of their needs and bring positive outcomes within their reach. For many, achieving their dream takes a different route, yet still requires many of the same skills. We created Chegg Skills to help bridge the gap between those learners and the modern, high tech workplace they want to enter.
Today’s job market
Today, 10.7M Americans are out of work – twice as many as before the pandemic1 – with Black and Latinx workers hit especially hard.2 At the same time, 149M new technology jobs are expected to emerge globally across privacy and trust, cybersecurity, data analytics, and cloud and software development by 2025.3 We are uniquely positioned to help motivated individuals gain the skills needed to enter and grow in industries that have a talent shortage.

Online education for a digital world
With the challenges of today, the “traditional” college experience no longer serves the needs of students or the employers they hope, and believe, they will ultimately work for. When we acquired Thinkful in 2019, we put a stake in the ground to say we believed preparing people for high tech, in-demand careers is possible outside of this traditional model.
